On the occasion of the celebration of this world day, promoted by the Association of Internet Users and the Internet Society, we are going to review some historical milestones of the world wide web
The internet that we know today has military origins and its initial model was ARPANET – Advanced Research Projects Agency Network. The basic concept was an internal communications network between computers of the time for military communication issues in real time. The TCP/IP protocol for physical addresses was also invented at that time.
Eight years later came the second major milestone: Tim Berners-Lee created the WWW system and web pages.
At least the vast majority of people. Does anyone dispute it? Our lives are increasingly linked technologically to the network. Take television, for example: more and more families are using fiber-optic cable TV systems instead of DTT antennas.
Or online shopping—especially for items that are hard to find in local stores—we now make these purchases via the web and online shops; there are many similar examples.
We are going to summarize the most important milestones that are remembered.
We do not know what its future will be like, but we believe that it is a bit like real life, it is a public space and that we all have to use it ethically and responsibly. It’s a matter for everyone.
In any case, Inforolot wishes you a happy World Internet Day 2022.
