TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION

Two factor authentication (2FA) is a powerful security tool that offers better protection against hacker attacks and phishing.

A huge obstacle for criminals

Two factor authentication is based on the idea that to access an account, a user must provide two verification items: one known to the user (such as a password) and one that only the user possesses (such as a phone or a token). This means that even if an attacker knows the password, they cannot access the account without possessing the second factor.

This means that for a cyber attacker to succeed in carrying out an attack on someone with the double factor implemented, they also have to be a high-level professional thief, and with endless skills that end up making life practically impossible for these criminals.

Two factor authentication improves security in several ways. First, it increases the difficulty for attackers, as they will have to crack two verification items to gain access to the account. Second, it reduces the risks of phishing and fraud, since an attacker will have to have access to the second factor to access the account, and that’s the extremely difficult part. The users’ personal or business mobile phone will act as a security “key” to which no one else can access.
Although it can be a bit annoying for some users, the security boost it offers is extremely valuable. Therefore, it is highly recommended that users implement such a system on all of their personal and professional accounts.

At Inforolot we offer cybersecurity systems with a two-factor implementation so that it is added to an almost insurmountable set of security elements.
