Real case of success with Microsoft Power BI

Real case interview Power BI

We have spoken with one of our customers, a businessman from the meat sector, so that he can tell us about the importance of Power BI for his company and review his real case.

Interview real case power bi (business intelligence).

Inforolot:
Good afternoon sir. I’m glad to see you. Everything’s fine?

Businessman:
Fine, thank you. A little stress lately. I was able to get a little while to serve you, which is already a lot.

Inforolot:
Perfect, because we don’t want to waste a lot of time, let’s get to the point and talk about the subject in question: Business Intelligence. Microsoft Power BI. Could you define this product with a few words or with an adjective?
Businessman:
Hmmm… A great partner in the form of a program? An efficient virtual accountant? A big help to get ahead? More or less you get the idea, I guess
Inforolot:
Yes, I think it is quite well understood. Let’s get a little specific. Can you give some examples where Power BI is essential for managing your business?

Businessman:
Of course. Let’s see. First, let’s recall recent events worldwide. First the pandemic and now the war. One disaster after another. This causes a disturbing political-economic instability on a large scale. There is a general increase in prices. That means that those of us who are in charge of companies have to make constant adjustments. Before we also made constant adjustments but they were minimal or almost null changes in figures. Now the movement of numbers is much crazier than before (especially pre-pandemic times).

Inforolot:
Very true, we know very well…
Businessman:
So we must first start with the cost of the raw materials we need to make our products. Obviously all prices in general have rised lately, and in that situation Power BI has been extremely useful to me, much more than ever. You go constantly and daily watching and monitoring the “on-line production” in the plant and from there with the data offered by the program, between costs in euros, and the number of hours and employees, from there you get the costs of manufacturing, and then, applying adequate margins, you determine the final PVP of the resulting products. Todo eso sin el Power BI sería una pesadilla de manejar en comparación. That’s what technology has to do, to make life easier for humans… Can you imagine doing dozens of calculations a day by hand and without using a calculator? Well, that’s more or less how I would feel without the program. But hey, what am I going to tell you if you know it well.

Inforolot:
Thanks.
Yes, we as interviewers know the program very well and we imagine your answers; The idea of doing the interview is to be seen by other potential customers of who don’t know as much about it.
Back to the topic… Apart from production, could you tell us the most critical area of the company where Power BI is totally key to your numbers and your proper functioning?

Businessman:
Yes, another key point is the issue of logistics and transportation. I’ve been working on it just before talking to you. With the rise in fuel prices and all the noise and cost increases in the transport sector, you are totally forced (more than ever) to calculate the issue of shipments to the millimeter to ensure the maximum possible profitability. And Power BI is a huge help. And I prefer not to tell more specific details. My competitors could then read it and learn something.
Inforolot:
Don’t you think that the competition already knows more or less all this?
Businessman:
Do you mean to know Power BI? I don’t know, some surely do, it depends on the company and its size… Perhaps some know it but could be misusing it, or use it worse than us and not take advantage of it. And honestly, if that’s the case, I hope they keep it like that (laughs).
Inforolot:
Any standout features or something you particularly like about Power BI?
Businessman:
I really like the amount of real-time data that you can see, and its presentation in graphs of all kinds, all personalized and adapted to our preferences and needs.
Inforolot:
Well, thank you very much for your time and for granting them the interview, good luck to you and keep your numbers green.
Businessman:
You’re welcome, in life you have to have a certain reciprocity, and you have done a good job for us with the implementation. See you next time!
