In <strong>2019<\/strong> a total of <strong>16.339 companies<\/strong> based on a productive activity related to this sector, these give <strong>work<\/strong>a total of <strong>114.300 people<\/strong>, this represents the <strong>3.3%<\/strong> of the <strong>occupied population<\/strong> in this autonomous community, standing above the average of the<strong>Spanish state<\/strong> (<strong>2,8%<\/strong>).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">foreign investments<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the last year, the number of foreign technology companies that have <strong>established a headquarters<\/strong> in <strong>Catalonia<\/strong> has increased by <strong>21%<\/strong>. Mainly, these come from 4 countries: <strong>USA<\/strong> (<strong>242<\/strong>),<strong>Germany<\/strong> (<strong>192<\/strong>), <strong>France<\/strong> (<strong>151<\/strong>) and the <strong>United Kingdom<\/strong> (<strong>149<\/strong>). This is because Catalonia is located in a privileged place, has the resources to host these organizations and is very well connected. The Catalan capital has large <strong>nautical<\/strong> and <strong>aeronautical<\/strong> infrastructures that are attractive in the face of a company&#8217;s international expansion.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ideal ecosystem for new opportunities<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Catalonia has established itself as the main <em>hub<\/em>for emerging companies in southern Europe.
